My Newsroom

I decided to create this page and list a bunch of headlines that tend to grab my attention when I’m checking my email or just browsing the net. I used to just bookmark them and then go back to read later. It’s in directory format which makes it much more manageable to delete and update. So this directory will become full of headlines that have at one time or another piqued my interest. If it did with me and you and I share some similar interests then you’ll find some of them interesting, too. ;)

Americans are happy, but ... - news.yahoo.com/page/election-2008-political-pulse-voters-mood
Catchy headline, thought, a kind of boring article at first glance. But it's early in the morning and I'm tired. So maybe I'll read it later.

'America' Map is a Mystery - news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071203/ts_nm/usa_map_dc
Mystery?! I read the article and quite frankly I don't see what's so mysterious about it.

Calif. Fires Displace More Than 250K - tinyurl.com/2fq52j
Found out via Yahoo's frontpage like over fifty percent of the headlines are that grab my attention. But the url is now broken so I had to find the story on another site; Yahoo apparently didn't archive this story either. Don't have any family nor friends in California (at least none that I know of). So why did it grab me? It was really just the fact that a part of the US was in flames so that grabbed me much like when the Katrina thing hit Louisiana and so on. Unfortunately, a lot of people lost their homes and some were injured due to the fires in California. And the kid got away with "playing" with matches -- WHATEVER! If he did in fact set that fire, then they sure as hell better get that kid some help pronto. Otherwise he'll soon be "playing" with the system. And to people who feel he shouldn't be punished because he's "just a kid," I say SHUT UP WITH THAT ALREADY! Ya'll know d@$# well that the "he's [or she's] just a kid" speech is no real defense that solves not a single thing rather only promotes and tells kids ten years younger and older that they can get away with doing wrongful things just because they "are kids." SORRY! Not the case and the WRONG way to raise a kid in this world. Keep on handling kids casually like they don't know what they are doing in wrongful acts and you'll find yourself looking down a barrel of a gun held by one of those "he's just a child." So be careful what you say and what it teaches the kids because they ARE PAYING ATTENTION to how adults react to things they do. You can mess around and underestimate them if you want to, but can't say you didn't know. You should know better just like the boy who's been living on this earth for the passed ten years that decided to "play" with matches knew better.

Most Ridiculous British Laws - www.yahoo.com/s/729414
The word 'ridiculous' is what got my attention for this one. Was wondering what laws they considered ridiculous. However, I haven't actually read the article, yet. I just bookmarked it to read later. haha.

Oh my, the United States isn't even in the top 10 anymore. haha. Daag!

The Most Likable Candidates? - news.yahoo.com/page/election-2008-political-pulse-11202007
Obama and Giuliani are the most liked. However, voters are more into voting for qualities (decisive, strong, honest, experienced and ethical) ahead of likability. In which case, Clinton has them all beat. With the events that have transpired (and I'm not referring to politics alone) since it's been known a woman is running for office, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if a woman DOES become the President of the USA this time around. And it's VERY likely to be Hillary Clinton, if no other "better" woman joins the race. I could be wrong, but we shall see come election day.

Tropical Storm Noel Buffets South Florida - www.cbs8.com/story.php?id=107667
