The Kiwi Burned Off My Tastebuds
It’s about 2:55 in the morning and I just finished eating me a kiwi. I ate it with the skin and man let me tell you. The skin was sweet and sour (more sour though) and the inside sort of bland. But eat them together and you’ve got the perfect tasting fruit.
I know the title don’t make much sense but surely it will as you continue to read on. I had some kiwi in my hands and initially started to shave it of its fuzz. You know how the skin is a little fuzzy. Well, I stopped and decided to eat it as is. I was hungry and ready to eat. I think the fuzz of the skin had a lot to do with the reason the tip of my tongue is all sensitive right now. The damn thing attacked me!
You laughing, but I’m serious. All of sudden I became extremely thirsty. I had about a half cup of orange juice. Bad idea. Why? Because the tip of my tongue starting stinging. I had some water, seemed to soothe it, but I just needed to have some more orange juice so got me about a fourth of orange juice. And it was so tasty I poured me a little more. Didn’t help, of course, but then followed through with some warm water and that was it.
Did any of that help the tip of my tongue? Nope. Even now it feels as if it burned off my tastebuds. It’s like that feeling you get when you drink or eat something hot right off the burner. Oops, shouldn’t have done that; should have let it cool off first. Yea, too late! Because by that time your tongue is already feeling the heat and your food won’t taste the same for that moment. Well, that’s how my tonuge (just the tip) is feeling right now all because I chose to eat the kiwi with the fuzzy skin.
Unfortunately, I have no photo of the kiwi accused of putting it on me because I ate it! Sucked the skin and inner parts of its juices and swallowed it – fuzz and all. Hell yea, it was still good! So unless I regurgitate it, there shall be no photo of it ever existing. LOL!
Honestly, I prefer kiwi without the fuzz, but every now and then don’t mind eating it as-is.
