Yes, I Have a Twin Sister!
By Halima on Nov 1, 2007 in Random Writings of Halima
Yes I am a twin
i have a twin sister
who is older than me by a single minute
and yes we are identical.
we weren’t the type of twins …
to go around playing jokes on people
and that includes no jokes on boyfriends
that was just lame
i am not attracted in any way
to guys she is attracted to
and vice versa
she likes ‘em tall
i like ‘em short and stocky
i think she prefers (keyword) to stay within her color
i on the other hand couldn’t careless
no preference
guys i’ve been with
could tell the difference
between she and i
i think one guy one time was unsure
haha.
guys she’s been with
hadn’t met me
except for one
who is the father of her child
and yes he can definitely tell the difference
i often wonder about her taste in guys
they just aren’t
in my opinion
the attractive type
but apparently they are to her
and well that’s really all that matters
but gosh she could do so much better
anyway
she and i
are two different people
however with similar styles
and a few interests
we eat pretty much
the same food
when i do eat
she’s into classic movies
and well they are interesting
but not something you’d find me
flipping through the channels to watch
she plays video games
but i’m more the video game player than she
you won’t find her buying a video game system
or video games
just to play video games
but you will find her playing board games
and such
and you can find me playing those too
like scrabble, scattergories, mad gab
and so on.
i’m more of the pool player than she
i’m more of the basketball player than she
she’s more of the chef than myself
though i do enjoy cooking
just she’s got the outfit and chef knives set
and whatnot
i’m more of the graphic designer than she
though she is good at it too
just she’ll be the first to tell you
it’s not something she wants to do in her life
in other words
it’s just like holdin’ down a job at a fast food restaraunt –
just something to pay a bill
between the two of us
i am the artist
having more artistic ability than she
of which she would agree
i’m into interior designing
but i’d have to say
she’s more into that than i
but it’s real close
about the same
just not exact
making her more of a designer than i
i’ve got a stronger entrepreneurial trait
than she
i think i may have even been the one
to try to ’sell’ her on the idea
of being an independent contractor
and/or going into business for herself
when i we were about sixteen/seventeen
not sure now
which side she’s leaning on more
employee status or in entrepreneurship
i of course am all the way live
meaning
entrepreneur
she has christian views
she does her best to uphold the laws of it
and well i no longer do
that is — share christian views
since I am no longer a Christian –
graduated that.
but i’m still a goody two-shoe
was before Christ
during Christ
and after
at least compared to most
I got into little to no trouble
in my days
and well there’s no shame in that
since i did what i wanted to do
goody two-shoe i am
compared to most
and neither of us has any criminal history
like I said goody two-shoe
what else?
if there is something i want to do
i’ll go ahead and do it
if at all possible
regardless its level of “goodness”
my twin sister isn’t like me
as far as that goes
but like me
she is also
a goody two-shoe
but her reasons may differ from mine
i don’t know.
haha.
she and i both have never done drugs (illegal kind)
she’ll take pills like tylenol or something if she’s got a headache or something
and i used to but stopped taking legal drugs even for that
altogether around age seventeen
you won’t see a medicine cabinet in my place
no siree.
she likes alcoholic beverages
however she hasn’t had one for over three years
think she chose to just not drink such
after she found out she was pregnant years ago
and since she gave birth
to date
she still hasn’t had one.
but i think if she really wanted a drink
then she’d have one
guess her desire for it has just gone bye-bye.
and me on the other hand
i don’t nor have i ever had an alcoholic drink
never had a desire for it so
never had one.
i’ve smoked cigarettes for a week and quit
she has never smoked them at all
i’ve had four sex partners
my twin sis? i really don’t know
she and I don’t share sex stories
I don’t tell anyone my experiences
gettin’ all vivid and who’s good and who isn’t
i’m not like that at all
and neither is my twin sis
really what would be the point in that anyway?!
i’ve had a relationship with a female once
– as in being a couple/together –
when i was like sixteen years old
(Nosy? Read more about it: Am I Straight, Lesbian or Bi?).
my twin sister hasn’t had a relationship with another female
and i’m willing to bet my life that she never will
i am more open-minded than my twin sis
i am more objective than she is
i’d even say i’m more attentive than she is
guess a lot of that had to do with counseling people
have to be an excellent listener as i was
in order to give sound advice when requested
we are both hospitable towards guests in our own places
let’s see
compared to my twin
my mother thinks i’m selfish
(a negative connotation)
am i?
if i am then i am
by your definition
but by my mother’s definition of selfish
i am and that’s fine with me.
who’s the nice twin
and who’s the mean twin
hmmm…
neither
we’re both equally nice as we are mean
who’s the chubby twin
and who’s the skinny twin
well I was the skinny twin
sis was the chubby one
but now-a-days
she’s caught up with me
and my slimness
honestly, she really wasn’t chubby anyway
she did have a TAD bit more weight than i
but chubby was just so far off the mark.
who’s more feminine
and who’s more masculine
well every human being
has both feminine and masculine sides
(and i’m not talking about those who go through some surgery
to get feminine parts and whatnot)
just most males are more in touch with their masculine side than feminine
and most females are more in touch with their feminine side than masculine.
my twin sister compared to me is more feminine than me
i was the “tomboy” growing up
now-a-days i’m equally balanced
with both my feminine as well as masculine side within me.
[what about you?
which side is your scale leaning more towards?
feminine
masculine
or smack dab in the middle???]
what else…
aaah!
i’ll go ahead and start wrapping it up
since I don’t want to be typing
about this forever.
so we aren’t “double trouble”
and for you sicko males:
“double the pleasure” will NEVER happen
with this set of twins
so remove it from your fantasy!
and to anyone
if you see my twin sister and i
please don’t approach us asking
“Are ya’ll twins?”
How’s that saying go?
If it looks like a duck
quacks like a duck
and walks like a duck
it’s because it probably is …
(something like that)
So please go with your gut/first instinct
instead of trying to get confirmation on it
by grinning and saying out loud after you get an answer:
“Yea I thought ya’ll were!”
As if you hit the lottery or something.
And then they follow-up with
“Identical?”
I MEAN … ?!
You know sometimes I’ll even give
a sarcastic ‘no’ and will leave it at that
where people are looking dumb-founded
like “Really?!”
while waiting for me to change my statement.
Yea we’re identical, you nini!
haha.
If we were paid a dollar for every time we were asked
that question: Are ya’ll twins?
we’d both be well over millionaire status.
if you’re intent is to just start a conversation
with either of us
then think of something else, please.
KAPEESH!

I totally agree!
Everytime we meet somebody new, we go through the whole process AGAIN.
“Are you two twins? Do you pretend to be your sister? Do you get jealous if your sis dates this guy? Can you feel what your sis is feeling?”
And everytime, I have to pretend to be friendly, smile and keep my sarcasm at bay while patiently answering their often repeated questions. BAH!
