Patience & Discipline, Definition, Success, MYOB
By Halima on Sep 25, 2007 in Dreams
Now this one is quite lengthy as I’m slightly showing the dreamer how I “analyze” the information as a means of possibly helping them break down their own in a round about kind of way. Which serves to help a person remain independent; to not be solely dependent on me nor anyone else regarding interpretation of dreams. Kind of like that parable goes: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” So this post is lengthy, but it is well worth the read:
The original post on DD board of user DreamConfusion, who titled it “Please Help Me Interpret This Dream…” (copied & pasted as-is):
Hi, I am 17 and would like some help with this dream…
My dream started out with me sitting on a roof looking in through a window at a girl, next I was in her room with her, we were very much in love with each other. We were both lying on her bed next to each other, her under the covers and myself ontop of them. I rolled over onto her and that was when the first part ended. The second part was that I was in the dining room of her house as if dinner just ended and her family was there. Her grandmother was a neighbor of mine who is old and the girls mother was a stranger. I was walking up the stairs to go to her room when two children came down, one a stranger and one my moms friends son who is about 8. I proceeded up the stairs and at the top was her bedroom on the right. There was no door in the doorway but a tarp like object to cover the opening. She said hold on a second because she was getting changed and to wait outside, I opened the tarp and looked in but not to see her naked or anything like that…just to look in. She then came over to me and next to the doorway where there was a wall suddenly became like a banister, I wanted to go into her room and stay with her but she said I had to go because her parents didnt want me there at the moment (not like they didnt like me). I kissed her through the banister and said “im loathing you” but I didnt mean it like that (I looked up loathing when i woke up from the dream and realized it didn’t mean what I thought it meant), I meant it as im missing you. I walked down the stairs and then i woke up. The only thing I know about this dream is that we were bothly deeply in love with each other, i dont know who the girl is and she didnt look like anyone i know. My guess is that this represents my wanting for a girlfriend and for love…I wrote in this dream about 5 months ago to the dream doctor and got no response so im not sure if i left out anything, i tried to remember as much as possible.
Broken down in a sort of dialog format–
DreamConfusion:
Hi, I am 17 and would like some help with this dream… My dream started out with me sitting on a roof
Halima:
Started your journey being on top
looking in through a window at a girl
evaluating; window of opportunity, one girl = one option
DreamConfusion:
next I was in her room with her,
Halima:
Next you made a decision to look more into that opportunity by getting closer to it
DreamConfusion:
we were very much in love with each other.
Halima:
It was something you fell in love with; grew very fond of and it in agreement with you.
DreamConfusion:
We were both lying on her bed next to each other
Halima:
You remain close to it and it to you like a pot of gold is in front of you yet you don’t take advantage of the moment
DreamConfusion:
her under the covers and myself ontop of them.
Halima:
the opportunity is right under your nose yet you do nothing
DreamConfusion:
I rolled over onto her and that was when the first part ended.
Halima:
You FINALLY decide to stop lying there next to and on top of your opportunity doing nothing but loving it and it loving you too. But when you FINALLY made that decision to do something about that “pot of gold” in front of you (not sure if that was to uncover your opportunity or just simply get on top of it), it ends. You’re too late or could be there’s nothing there depending on how you look at ‘end’. If you have the winning lottery numbers and you just sit there enjoying the winning lottery ticker knowing you’ve won but take forever to go get your money then you’ve just thrown away an opportunity.
That’s all I’ve read so far and picked up. It can be interpreted in more than one way. I just gave you one perspective.
Take it for what it’s worth, modify it and apply it anywhere in your life that it may (jobs, relationships, school etc.).
DreamConfusion:
Halima, thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond to my dream, a really appreciate it. Your interpretation seems like a good one but I can’t seem to link it to anything that has happened or is going on now. More insight from you is more than welcome, thanks again!
Halima:
Sure you can link it to something in your life for the simple fact that every living person is presented with opportunities.
. Re-evaluate your life and see what it is you are growing fond of, looking into, getting closer to and wanting to get on “top of” to the point that you do. It could be a business decision, work, relationship, school, pretty much anything you can think of that has your attention as in the dream.
If there be absolutely nothing after you do a thorough look into your life, theeeeennnnnn… it could be a dream telling you that in the future you will be in a situation where you are evaluating a situation and loving it and so forth. Some dreams show you what is going to happen and the result of your actions if you choose to do a certain thing. This allows you to see into your future, if you will, what decision you should make to prevent an outcome that you don’t want from happening. If your dream is not about the future events, which you can only tell as time passes (it could even happen tomorrow), your dream could mean something entirely different. If I pick up anything else from your dream, I will surely let you know.
Also, your dream may be for someone else whom might read this board. I know one time I was reading a dream posted from someone else and it was if that person read my mail. Of course, I didn’t let them know that - I didn’t even respond but it lead me what to do about my situation. I don’t know if that person ever got an interpretation - but it was a while back in a yahoo group. What good would that do you to dream someone else’s business? Being a messenger of confirmation or maybe because that person thinks they’re hearing things and therefore ignoring it; helping someone else is a jewel. Learn to exercise that gift and find out who the message is for and deliver it. You don’t always need to know who it’s for, though in order for the message to be delivered just like in that post I described. Look at the word ‘message’ as a person itself. It just needs a vehicle to get closer to the person it’s attempting to reach. And you may be that vehicle Message uses whether you are aware of it or not. Funny how things work. Anyway, that’s if that applies to this situation. I don’t know. I hear things when reading posts, type them and submit it and leave it up to the people to find a more accurate interpretation from the perspective I gave. So they can later apply it where need be to their lives, if at all possible. I know sometimes when I interpret my own dreams and my family members’ dreams one perspective leads to another if the first doesn’t fit. I don’t claim to be an expert at this stuff, however, I do want to get better, though.
But right now my [relative] is bugging me to do something. So when I’m done I’ll read the rest of your dream because it may lead to more clues as to what specifically you need to be aware of. I’ll reply later on.
DreamConfusion:
Maybe the thing I’m “on top of” is school, im starting college in a week and am very excited. I also took some classes over the summer and did very well. As always, thanks for your insight.
[Later comes and I finish reading the rest of the dreamer's dream.]
DreamConfusion:
…The second part was that I was in the dining room of her house
Halima:
On the inside is all i’m picking up.
DreamConfusion:
as if dinner just ended and her family was there.
Halima:
There’s the word ‘end’ again. Seems like you’re catching the tail end of something, but apparently not alone. The end also denotes the beginning of something new.
DreamConfusion:
Her grandmother was a neighbor of mine who is old
Halima:
possible perspectives
grand = something big
mother = authority nurturer
grandmother = wise, something big and nuturing with authority
old = been around for a long time
DreamConfusion:
and the girls mother was a stranger.
Halima:
stranger = someone/something unknown
DreamConfusion:
I was walking up the stairs to go to her room
Halima:
proceeding upwards towards something, accomplishing something
DreamConfusion:
when two children came down,
Halima:
Image I’m getting is a picture of a person climbing a mountain and two small rocks (obstacles) from above you come down.
DreamConfusion:
one a stranger and one my moms friends son who is about 8.
Halima:
One rock (obstacle) something unknown and one you are familiar with and have been for some time.
DreamConfusion:
I proceeded up the stairs
Halima:
Apparently you didn’t let either rock stop you from continuing to climb upwards. this is signs of an overcomer/ambition at work. One who lets obstacle pass them by once you observe what it is or isn’t. You don’t get stuck on it too long, letting it go. Kind of like how they say with thoughts when one is attempting to meditate and can’t because other things are messing up their concentration. They say to acknowledge the thought and let it go right on by. You acknowledged (noticed paid attention to) the obstacles very briefly but didn’t allow it to distract you from finishing what you started.
DreamConfusion:
and at the top was her bedroom on the right. There was no door in the doorway but a tarp like object to cover the opening.
Halima:
You made it to the top (point of success)
bedroom = intimacy (in to me see); serious
right = right, correct
no door but a tarp like object covering the opening = hmm… something not securely closed. not revealed, covered
At the point of success you were lead to a more serious level/project that was not revealed to you since it was covered.
DreamConfusion:
She said hold on a second because she was getting changed and to wait outside,
Halima:
The one who lead you to the top (that you followed to this “room”) requested you to wait so he/she could change something behind the scenes.
DreamConfusion:
I opened the tarp and looked in but not to see her naked or anything like that…just to look in.
Halima:
You took it upon yourself to do so anyway and took a peak at what was going on. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not considering she requested you to wait. Demonstrates one who will not follow simple directions due to impatience.
DreamConfusion:
She then came over to me
Halima:
approach
DreamConfusion:
and next to the doorway where there was a wall suddenly became like a banister
Halima:
A wall something that divides, keep from seeing into turned into a banister.
banister = handrail, support, or take ban (from banister); no longer accepted
DreamConfusion:
I wanted to go into her room and stay with her but she said I had to go because her parents didnt want me there at the moment (not like they didnt like me).
Halima:
You wanted to stay somewhere you were no longer wanted no matter by whom or what for the moment. Could be you looking in without request caused that to occur; which would make sense of the above a wall turns into being banned.
DreamConfusion:
I kissed her through the banister and said “im loathing you” but I didnt mean it like that (I looked up loathing when i woke up from the dream and realized it didn’t mean what I thought it meant), I meant it as im missing you.
Halima:
Demonstrates a person who says one thing and means another, whether done intentionally or not. If you say one thing and didn’t mean it, then maybe you should do some soul searching to find out why it came out the way that it did, instead of coming out the way that you “meant” it.
DreamConfusion:
I walked down the stairs and then i woke up.
Halima:
Came down from the point of success; failure; woke up = to realize, to be alert, aware.
DreamConfusion:
The only thing I know about this dream is that we were bothly deeply in love with each other, i dont know who the girl is and she didnt look like anyone i know. My guess is that this represents my wanting for a girlfriend and for love…I wrote in this dream about 5 months ago to the dream doctor and got no response so im not sure if i left out anything, i tried to remember as much as possible.
Halima:
I can see all of this as symbolic and in its literal sense just in general; in the workforce, school, relationships anything. To reach the top, be lead to something more serious and and screw it up because of lack of discipline to follow the simple things and lack of patience. A person wanting to stay there but aren’t welcomed enough to be wanted to stay (read that carefully) and to “slide” right back down from where you started - ground zero the end and yet the beginning of something. Eee. Well, what can this teach you, since it’s your post. What is the moral(s) of this little story (your dream)?
- To make sure you follow directions as requested; have patience and discipline. One slip up can/will cause your downfall.
- Say exactly what you mean and mean what you say. If you find yourself saying one thing but meant to say something else, hurry up and correct yourself. But at the same time, I’d suggest looking “deep” down inside of yourself and ask yourself, “why did I say that when I meant to say something else?” The subliminal messages our minds/soul/inner self/true self (whatever you want to call it) tell us about what’s really deep down inside.
- How to climb the ladder of success: with ambition, not letting anything distract you even when others may be falling and how to stay at the top: follow even the most simplest directions as wait when requested.
- Stay out of someone else’s business especially if you weren’t invited in, to take a peek or look in for whatever reason.
Let’s say you already know this. Maybe it’s something that needs to be re-enforced so you can take it more seriously than you have been.
You know your life better than I. I just typed whatever came to me as I read the rest until I got to the end. The second part doesn’t seem like it has anything to do with the first with the way things were coming to but it might. I hope what I’ve typed triggers something in you or another to help give you a more accurate interpretation of your dream, without me sitting here and asking you questions. I gave you a possible one answer(s). Now it’s your duty to find the question or questions (like playing jeopardy) you may have asked recently, or in the past (silently or aloud; hidden or surfaced).
If I pick up anything else, I’ll post again. Best to you.
DreamConfusion:
halima i can’t express my thanks enough, your interpretations helped me see things i would never think of and i definitly see connections..thanks again.
Halima:
DreamConfusion, you are very welcome.
