Abortion
By Halima on Sep 25, 2007 in Dreams
Dream referenced from DD board titled ‘abortion’ by the user: creola2777 (copied & pasted as-is):
I dreamed that I had an abortion. The dream was so vivid. I remember the pain down there after having the abortion. I remember having the abortion and then the doctor scolding me for doing so. Then I remember wearing the bloody bandages and having to change them in the bathroom of a very busy resturant. And I looked down into the toilet and saw the remains of the aborted baby in the toilet. Then I looked up and someone was standing at my stall of the restroom looking at me. There suddenly were no doors to the stall. As I was leaving the resturant someone was following me and scolding me for what I had done. I have been disturbed by it all day. What does this mean?
Possible interpretation I gave to the dreamer:
Let it go - easier said than done; flush whatever you are mad at yourself about for aborting, beit a real child, an idea, a job, a relationship, school, etc. Only you know what that is. Healing takes place within but you have to rid the old bandages flushing down the toilet the remains. You’ve healed partially but flushing will heal you completely so you can move on towards the future without your guilt/hurt/anger (whatever it may be) following you around scolding you.
Search yourself. If it is not obvious what it is you are holding on to, ask yourself “What is it exactly that I need to let go of, that I’m still mad at myself for killing?” The answer will come in any form (dream, person, watching something). Just be open and alert to receive the answer as you have paid attention to this dream.
I hope this helps you reach an understanding with your inner self as well as a more accurate interpretation of your dream. You know your life better than I. Smiles.
The process before giving the possible conclusion(s):
creola2777:
I dreamed that I had an abortion.
Halima:
Abortion = the killing of something by the carrier; death before it is birthed caused by the carrier; to stop delivery of something you were intended to deliver
creola2777:
The dream was so vivid. I remember the pain down there after having the abortion.
Halima:
remember = to not forget; to recall something that has happened in the past
pain = hurt; injury; something needs healing
abortion = same as above
You recall a hurt in your life that has happened in the past of something you killed before it could live. Kind of like having an idea in your mind and it be killed by discouragement and therefore not acted on; not manifested. And feelings of guilt or pain because you chose (for whatever reason) to not follow (or deliver; make existent in your world) that “baby” (idea, thought, dream, goal). You stopped the process and now remember what it felt like to kill it; eliminate it and not pursue it.
creola2777:
I remember having the abortion and then the doctor scolding me for doing so.
Halima:
Doctor = healing; helping hand, someone who cares
scolding = not in agreement; mad; beyond disappointment
Someone didn’t like the fact that you made the decision to not pursue (or deliver) whatever it was that was within you. The doctor can also represent you. You could be mad at yourself for not pursuing your dream.
creola2777:
Then I remember wearing the bloody bandages
Halima:
I’m not getting anything at this moment regarding the bloody bandages… wait… I’ve got something -
wearing = covering something
bloody = something has been torn, cut, injured badly
bandages = a method of healing so injury will not get infected by outside bacteria
(you) covering up something that is injured on or within your person so that healing can take place without being further infected/irritated by outside harm. Like when a person’s heart has been broken, some people will put up a wall so that nobody can infiltrate while they are healing.
creola2777:
and having to change them in the bathroom of a very busy resturant.
Halima:
change = getting rid of the old; making room for the new
bathroom = place of cleansing
very busy = a lot of things going on all at once
restaurant = place to eat, food, satisfying one’s hunger
(you) had to get rid of the old way of healing to replace it with the new/fresh/clean way of healing in a place of cleansing … going inside of yourself where its busy you will find a fresh healing and cleansing to satisfy your injury.
creola2777:
And I looked down into the toilet and saw the remains of the aborted baby in the toilet.
Halima:
down = feeling bad; the thing of the past
toilet = a place to flush away waste
seeing the remains = seeing what was left of that “baby” you killed before it had a chance to live in your world and not just inside of you
baby = a thought, idea, dream or goal
(you’re) looking back on the idea you let die (for whatever reason).
creola2777:
Then I looked up
Halima:
Looking = evaluating, thinking, pondering
up = present, new “future”
kind of like snapping out of a daydream back into the present. or looking onward towards the future no longer looking at the past what has been done already.
creola2777:
and someone was standing at my stall of the restroom looking at me.
Halima:
someone = could be you looking at you
standing = not moving or when one says “after all i’ve been through i’m still standing” and standing in that sense i’m still here, to overcome and conquer that which has happened
stall = to hinder, slow oneself from going forward, to procrastinate
restroom = to rest, a place of rest
you observing yourself at a stand still, stalling from going forward from a stand still to moving in a direction leaving the past to rest
creola2777:
There suddenly were no doors to the stall.
Halima:
No doors = free reign to leave
Having free reign; free access to leave. will you let go of that thing/person you aborted to rest in the restroom and move forward; moving on in your life?
creola2777:
As I was leaving the resturant someone was following me and scolding me for what I had done.
Halima:
Leaving = letting go of the past, moving forward to the future
someone following you = you
you left but did not let go. to let go you should have flushed the toilet, which you didn’t mention. until you flush the toilet, you will continue to scold yourself for aborting your “baby” and cannot fully enjoy the present nor the future; (moving on) by holding on to the past.
creola2777:
I have been disturbed by it all day. What does this mean?
Halima:
